The First Helicopter to Fly on Mars
NASA’s Ingenuity helicopter will make its first attempt in history to fly on another planet after arriving on February 18, 2021 to Mars as part of the Perseverance rover mission.
The Innovate helicopter will test a new capability for the first time as a tech. demo, to show that controlled flight is possible in the very thin atmosphere of Mars. If successful, it could usher a new era in space exploration.
